Turning Over A New Leaf

This summer we held workshops that provided valuable knowledge that fostered connections within our community. We partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association and Paine Senior Services to offer our two Just Breathe events: 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s, and Healthy Living for your Brain and Body. After the Alzheimers‘s workshop, a participant shared that the space helped her learn the difference between general age related changes and Alzheimer’s symptoms.

Our Working While Black panel discussion allowed the community to navigate workplace spaces to create opportunities for success.

Participants commented on how panelists were very knowledgeable and had a variety of different backgrounds and career paths. They enjoyed how it felt like a discussion because of the seamless information that was exchanged and the transparency from all the speakers. Many people appreciated the opportunity to ask questions in a safe space and felt less alone.

Recently, we had the pleasure of conducting The Things We Carry Women’s Group, facilitated by Dr. Candyce Burke August PsyD. Stay tuned for the feedback we received from our participants.

A special thank you to our facilitators and participants!
